Guide to finding cross-cultural norms in Africa
This document is designed to help psychologists select tests with appropriate normative data for their individual clients and is organised by key demographic factors to consider when choosing test norms: age, level and quality of education, and language. Psychologists working with clients from diverse backgrounds can use this guide to select cognitive tests with norms that fit their specific examinees. After an assessment, psychologists can refer back to this document to find where the test norms are located, which are primarily in the book Cross-Cultural Cognitive Test Norms: An Advanced Collation from Africa (Shuttleworth-Edwards & Truter, 2023).
