Basics to Beyond: Foundational Course in Neuropsychology

This one-year introductory course serves as a bridging course for those who would like to apply for the Comprehensive Course later, or as a stand-alone course as an introduction to neuropsychology. The course will equip the psychologist with foundational knowledge of neuropsychology and some experience in neuropsychological test administration.

CPD Accredited: 25 General CEUs & 5 Ethics CEU

Course Content

The course consists of reading the prescribed reading material, watching tutorial videos and completing nine assignments. The first assignment (Assignment A) involves practicing the tests that participants will be trained in during the compulsory two-day workshop. The remaining assignments are online multiple-choice questionnaires based on the videos and prescribed reading material. Topics to be covered include: neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuropathology and neuropsychological assessment.

Compulsory Workshop: 

Candidates will need to attend a two-day online introductory workshop on 19  & 20 February from 09:00 – 17:00

Cost and Payment

Total cost: R9 499-00 (Neuropsychology SA Psychologist and Student members) or R10 235-00 (non-members and Limited members). Fee includes course fees, battery of tests in public domain and postage

Payments terms:

- Registration: R 2 735-00 (R1 999-00 for Neuropsychology SA Psychologist and Student members)

- Module 1: R 3 000-00 due 31 March 2025

- Module 2: R 2 500-00 due 31 June 2025

- Module 3: R 2 000-00 due 30 September 2025
