Advanced Neuroanatomy Course
This 12-week online course is designed primarily for clinicians working with neurological and neurosurgical patients seeking an advanced understanding of functional neuroanatomy. The course provides a gyri- and sulci-based exploration of the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes, cerebellum and brain stem, as well as the limbic systems, incorporating their corresponding Brodmann areas (for reference), white matter connections (basic), functional roles, and deficits. Additionally, the course includes an online hands-on imaging component, allowing participants to navigate and analyze MRI scans in axial, coronal, and sagittal planes and identify these cortical structures accordingly in all three planes. The online MRI-based anatomy platform will be accessible to course participants throughout the 12-weeks course and additionally for another 4 weeks after the course ends.
Total CPD hours: 36 hours
Lecture Dates : Every Saturday, 9am -12pm Central Africa Time (CAT) /South African Standard Time (SAST) (July 5th, 2025 – September 20th, 2025)
Written Examination: 27rd September 2025 (3 hours, 9am to 12pm, online, Format: MCQs, Labelling, Short Answers)
Oral Exams : 28th -30th September 2025 (30-45 minutes/candidate)
