Behavioural Assessment of the Dysexecutive Syndrome (BADS)

The BADS is aimed at predicting everyday problems associated with the dysexecutive syndrome. Dysexecutive Syndrome includes disorders of planning, organization, problem solving, setting priorities, and attention and is one of the major areas of cognitive deficit that can impede functional recovery and the ability to respond to rehabilitation programs.

The BADS:

  • Specifically assesses skills and demands of everyday life
  • Is sensitive to capacities affected by frontal lobe damage
  • Emphasises capacities usually exercised in everyday situations
