FIND A TEST

A guide on where to find and acquire neuropsychological tests

The BADS is aimed at predicting everyday problems associated with the dysexecutive syndrome. Dysexecutive Syndrome includes disorders of planning, organization, problem solving, setting priorities, and attention and is one of the major areas of cognitive deficit that can impede functional recovery and the ability to respond to rehabilitation programs.

The BADS:

  • Specifically assesses skills and demands of everyday life
  • Is sensitive to capacities affected by frontal lobe damage
  • Emphasises capacities usually exercised in everyday situations

This test of visual inattention takes less than five minutes to administer. A description of the test, administration instructions, the demonstration sheet, the test form and the scoring sheets can all be found in the book by Strauss, Sherman and Spreen (2006) titled, "A Compendium of Neuropsychological Tests" on pages 968 and 969. According to Strauss et al. (2006), the test can be copied from the original publication, or from their book.

This test, aimed at adults 16 years and older, helps evaluate global cognitive functioning in patients with dementia, mild learning disabilities or suspected Alzheimer's Disease. The brief test is a stand-alone version of the optional Brief Cognitive Status Exam found in the WMS-IV test. (Information attained from Innovact.)

This convenient test assesses the cognitive functions targeted in a typical neuropsychological exam. In less than 30 minutes, it gives you a general cognitive profile that can be used for screening, diagnosis, or follow-up. More efficient than a neuropsychological battery and more thorough than a screener, BNCE is an ideal way to evaluate the cognitive status of patients with psychiatric disorders or psychiatric manifestations of neurological diseases.

The CCTT assesses sustained attention, sequencing, and other executive functions while reducing reliance on language and diminishing the effects of cultural bias and parental verbal report.

The CCTT is firmly rooted in child development and maturational theory, developmental neuropsychology, and child neurology. The salient features, color and number, were chosen because these characteristics are easier than letters for children to process and recognize.

The CVMT uses complex, ambiguous designs and a recognition format to measure visual learning and memory.

The clinical sensitivity of the CVMT has been demonstrated in patients with unilateral right hemisphere cerebral vascular accident (i.e., stroke), individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, and patients who have suffered severe head trauma.

The Digit Span Three-Trial Test (Truter, 2018) is a digit span test based on the descriptions by Lezak, Howieson & Tranel (2012), where if an examinee is not able to do two trials of the forwards or backwards spans, they are given a third trial to test the limits.

The instructions for administration and scoring, and the number sequences, can be found under "Restricted Use Tests", only available to registered psychologists and psychometrists:
